Fire Safety in Education
Fire safety awareness for staff and volunteers in schools, nurseries and other settings for children in England. Six modules and a final test, about 2 hours. It uses government sources: the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Home Office fire safety risk assessment guidance, Department for Education guidance and the Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework. This course does not replace your setting's fire risk assessment, fire procedures, practical fire drills or a fire warden or marshal course. The law and guidance differ in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Health & Safety in Education
Awareness training for staff and volunteers in schools, nurseries and other settings for children in England: who is responsible for what, risk assessment, everyday hazards, manual handling, hazardous substances and screens, wellbeing and working alone, and accidents, first aid arrangements and emergencies. Six modules with narration, captions and sources on every slide, then a final test. About 2.3 hours in all. Based on law and guidance for England. Most of the health and safety law described also applies in Wales and Scotland; Northern Ireland has its own law. It does not replace your setting's risk assessments, health and safety policy or competent health and safety advice, or job-specific training. In an emergency call 999.
Safeguarding and Child Protection for Schools and Early Years
Safeguarding and Child Protection for Schools and Early Years is an online course of about 3 hours for anyone in England who works or volunteers with children in schools, colleges, nurseries and other early years settings. It covers what safeguarding means and the law and guidance that apply (including Keeping children safe in education 2026, Working Together 2026 and the EYFS); the four categories of abuse and neglect and their signs; child-on-child abuse, exploitation and serious violence; online safety and mental health; FGM, forced marriage, radicalisation and the Prevent duty; how to respond to a concern or disclosure; and concerns and allegations about adults, safer recruitment, the September 2026 regulated activity changes and whistleblowing. Seven short modules with narration, videos, games and fictional examples, each ending with a 5-question check, then a 20-question final test (pass mark 16 out of 20). This course is for learning only: it is not a regulated qualification and is not legal advice, and it does not replace your setting's safeguarding policy or advice from your designated safeguarding lead.
